Potable Water

Overview

Leavenworth Water Treatment Plant, KansasWater is life. Black & Veatch and utilities around the world share an abiding duty to protect public health through proper treatment and distribution of potable water. Water is the lifeblood of a community. The public relies upon utilities to deliver safe and aesthetically pleasing potable water. Black & Veatch helps clients develop treatment facilities and distribution systems to meet public needs and expectations.

Cost-effective solutions that work. Population growth, emerging pollutants and pathogens, and more stringent regulations are driving potable water projects. Black & Veatch focuses on long-term solutions -- affordable and effective alternatives for the challenges our clients face. We look first to technologies that enhance the capabilities and performance of existing facilities -- as with the Southern Nevada Water Authority project -- before recommending new facilities.

Innovation leaders. When it comes to water treatment and distribution, Black & Veatch's innovative approach is complemented by a wealth of experience. At the Choa Chu Kang Waterworks, we are combining an innovative, gravity-driven submerged membrane system with ozone to advance the quality of Singapore’s water. In Greenville, S.C., Black & Veatch provided the largest dissolved air flotation facility in North America.

Recognizing the value of underground assets. The challenge facing most water and wastewater utilities is the effective management of underground infrastructure. These assets have been out of sight and out of mind for many decades. Black & Veatch helps water utilities assess and restore these assets using the latest hydraulic analysis, water demand forecasting and software applications.
