Known
as the Spur Line, this HK$2 billion infrastructure project comprises
design of 7.4 km of railway alignment from Sheung Shui to Lok Ma Chau.
Much of the line was on a viaduct with the rest on embankments and cuts.
The project requires major utility diversions including the five China
Water pipes north of Sheung Shui, reprovisioning of various roads and
other facilities, and modifications to the existing Sheung Shui Station.
