Brazil / Argentina 500 kV Interconnection Project

This project involves the design and construction of 310 miles (500 kilometers) of 500 kV overhead transmission line; expansion of two 500 kV switching stations, one in Brazil and one in Argentina; one 1200 MW 500 kV Back-to-Back DC Converter Station; and all right-of-way procurement and permitting. Black & Veatch performed the conceptual engineering, engineering cost estimate and turnkey cost estimate, in addition to preparing specifications for the transmission line construction, expansion of existing substations, the new converter station and the communications system.
