Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp. provided engineering services for the removal and disposal of three polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) transformers (greater than 500 ppm PCB) at the existing Pentagon heating and refrigeration plant. We are also responsible for the design and construction of a new heating / refrigeration plant for the Pentagon. The new plant distributes chilled water and steam through a new underground tunnel system. The plant can process 37,500 tons of chilled water and 270,000 rounds per hour of saturated steam.
