Riverside
Cogen Project
The nominal 425 MW natural gas fired Riverside Project combined cycle
co-generation facility was constructed for Riverside Cogen LLC by BVZ
Power Partners - Riverside. BVZ Riverside, a joint venture between Overland
Contracting Inc. and Zachry Construction Company, provided full engineering,
procurement and construction services for the project.
Highlights include:
- Evaporative cooling system improved efficiency and increased the
plant output during high ambient temperature conditions.
- HRSGs, with gas fueled duct burners, increased plant output for
peaking service.
- Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system controlled facility NOx
emissions.
- A 30 inch diameter steam line, routed off-site from the Facility,
delivered a nominal 775,000 lbs/hrs, and a maximum of 1,100,000 lbs/hr
of process steam to the host facility.
- Steam turbines will allow bypass operation for startup of the HRSGs,
and provides a means to operate the combustion turbine generators
in the event the steam turbine generator is out of service.
