ENTERPRISE CONSULTING ACCESSES THE ECONOMIC VIABILITY OF A COMBINE
HEAT AND POWER FACILITY FOR BIALYSTOK, POLAND
Problem:
Determine the technical and financial viability of proposed modernization
alternatives for a combined heat and power facility (CHP).
Solution:
Black & Veatch performed a feasibility study technical and economic
feasibility study of proposed modernization alternatives for a CHP that
provides hot water for district heating, process steam for local industry,
and electricity for the local grid. Black & Veatch performed an
initial screening of coal fired and natural gas fired technology options
including re-powering alternatives. Follow-on analysis of the selected
alternative included a fuel supply study, environmental and social soundness
assessment, capital cost estimate, operations and maintenance plan,
financial plan, and overview of terms for the major project development
contracts.
