Black & Veatch Wins Place on Environment Agency’s Consultancy Framework
London (January 23, 2006). Black & Veatch has successfully secured a place on the Environment Agency’s NEECA2 (National Engineering & Environmental Consultancy Agreement) framework. This follows the company’s performance in the NEECA1 framework, which led to Black & Veatch heading the Environment Agency’s project key performance indicator rankings over the last year of the framework.
NEECA2 consolidates the massive growth in the volume of Environment Agency work the company has delivered over the past five years. The latest NEECA2 framework is nominally a 4-year framework, but could be extended to up to 8 years. Black & Veatch will provide its distinctive engineering and environmental services across a wide spectrum of areas including flood defence, water resources, navigation and environmental protection, helping to improve the environment while providing sustainable benefits for generations to come.
Paul Sedgwick, Commercial Manager at the Environment Agency says: "Black & Veatch worked extremely hard to achieve their thoroughly well deserved place as one of our leading consultants in NEECA1 and we look forward to working with them on the new challenges ahead in NEECA2."
Matthew Nott, Environment Business Director at Black & Veatch said, "We intend to build on the successes of the previous NEECA1 framework, working with the agency to deliver projects that create value, enhance safety, and protect the environment, thus making a positive difference to the lives of even more people.”
Nott added that the award provides a significant boost to Black & Veatch’s environmental management business and consolidates the company’s position as a leading consultant in river and coastal engineering and environmental management in the UK.
In the early years of its NEECA1 work with the Environment Agency, Black & Veatch focused on helping the Agency to deliver a rapidly growing capital programme to address the devastation of the autumn 2000 floods. The spotlight then turned to investing in improving performance, with a Key Client Team working with project teams and support staff to achieve consistency in project delivery, targeted professional development, and recognition of excellence.
The Environment Agency Framework Contracts were established to allow the Agency to utilise the skills of a number of consultants for delivery of their flood defence programme. The frameworks have been created in order to foster a true partnering relationship between the Agency and its consultants so that quality solutions and value for money are achieved.
