Black & Veatch Integrates Resources to Accommodate Expansion, Alignments Within Enterprise Management Solutions Support Growth

Overland Park, KS (October 17, 2005) – Black & Veatch Corporation today announced organizational changes that will align the vast resources it has assembled within its business consulting division, Enterprise Management Solutions (EMS).

“Our new structure positions our professional resources closer to clients, resulting in highly-effective delivery of business advisory solutions from locally-based experts,” said Rodger Smith, President of EMS. “With these talented, experienced leaders in place, EMS is better prepared to help our clients deliver on their opportunities,” Smith added.

The recent acquisition of Fortegra further enhances and expands the range of business solutions the company offers. Smith said Fortegra’s expertise spans Customer Information Systems (CIS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), billing, field operations, scheduling and settlement applications, and when integrated with EMS, creates greater strengths for Black & Veatch.

Under the new structure, Dick Heenan has been appointed Senior Vice President, Advisory Solutions. In addition, regional vice presidents have been appointed and assigned responsibility for overseeing delivery of solutions to clients in their areas. The new appointees are Tom Peterson, West; John Kersten, Southeast; Ray Adams, Southwest; Peggy Howe, Midwest; and John Achenbach, Northeast (acting Regional Manager). Each will report to Mike Elzey, EMS Vice President, Regions & Sales.

To better leverage the acquisitions of energy industry advisory companies Lukens Energy Group,
R. J. Rudden Associates, and now Fortegra, EMS has appointed Jay Lukens as Senior Vice President; Rich Rudden as Senior Vice President and Energy Industry Lead; and Vince Phelps, Vice President.

Within the water industry, EMS has appointed Rowe McKinley as Vice President and Water Industry Lead.

“The combination of resources we’ve assembled further positions Black & Veatch to offer a suite of management and technology advisory solutions that is unparalleled in the marketplace,” said Smith.

EMS now has a combined team of approximately 220 professionals advising clients from offices across the country, including locations in Kansas City, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando, Dallas, Houston, Denver, Phoenix and Los Angeles.
