Cynthia Morse of Black & Veatch Receives Award of Recognition from The Minority Supplier Council

Kansas City, Mo. (August 1, 2005) – Cynthia Morse, contracts manager for Black & Veatch’s Telecommunications business, received an award of recognition from The Minority Supplier Council (MSC) for demonstrating a high level of commitment to volunteer participation and attendance. The MSC is a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of the minority business economy in Kansas City, Western Missouri, and Kansas.

“Since Cynthia joined our committee, she has not missed a single meeting and is actively involved in planning the learning activities for the MSC for the 2005 calendar year,” stated Committee Chairwoman Terry Richardson. “This committee and active corporate volunteers like Cynthia are vital to the success of the MSC as we are responsible for planning the logistics for all learning activities that include corporate roundtables, buyer/supplier forums and best practices workshops.”

Morse joined the MSC’s Program and Planning Committee in February of this year and was the “Volunteer of the Month” in June.

“We are extremely proud of Cynthia who has shown a strong sense of commitment to the MSC and is very deserving of this honor,” said Marty Travers, president of Black & Veatch Telecommunications. “Black & Veatch recognizes the value MSC brings to the local community and is committed to supporting its mission, programs and events.”

MSC delivers programs and services designed to accelerate minority business growth and to assist corporations in increasing their spending with minority suppliers. Comprised of over 140 member corporations and over 200 certified minority businesses, MSC seeks to develop and promote a corporate/community effort to provide a barrier free economy. The Web site for the MSC is www.m-s-c.org.
