Black & Veatch's Telecommunications Division Appoints Wireless Sales Director

Overland Park, Kan. (May 19, 2004) – Black & Veatch’s Telecommunications Division today announced that it has appointed Kevin Travelstead as its director of wireless sales. Travelstead brings to the position 24 years of strategic selling and sales management experience, with 18 of those years in the wireless industry.

“In his new role, Kevin will be responsible for generating new business for our (Black & Veatch’s) wireless sector,” said Black & Veatch Telecommunications Division Chief Development Officer Harold Hoagland. “Over the course of his career, he has had a track record of generating revenue by aggressively pursuing strategic opportunities and organizing and motivating colleagues to support sales initiatives.”

Previously, Travelstead was vice president of business development for CSG Partners where he marketed career transition and executive coaching services. Before that, he helped fund and launch a WiFi services start-up called FirstMile Access. Travelstead was also the director of sales at Sprint PCS, where he helped grow the sales operation in Kansas City from its inception in 1996. Travelstead also spent 10 years with AT&T Wireless (formerly McCaw Cellular Communications), working in various sales and sales management roles.

“The addition of Kevin Travelstead is part of our plan to hire and retain top talent so as to consistently identify and successfully deliver to our clients the best solutions available,” said Hoagland.

Black & Veatch’s Telecommunications Division provides a full range of services to deploy wireless or wireline networks and other advanced and emerging telecommunications technologies.
